Project Description

Sustainable design with character

The law firm Rutgers & Posch transformed their offices in the historic building De Olifant with a contemporary, sustainable design. The design team from HEYLIGERS Architects chose The Good Floor – terrazzo made from recycled plastic from Amsterdam’s canals – as the connecting foundation for the entire office.

One of the most striking elements in this renovation project is the choice for The Good Floor – recycled terrazzo. This circular floor concept is made from waste streams from Amsterdam’s canals in collaboration with Plastic Whale, making it perfectly align with the office’s sustainable ambitions. The terrazzo floor gives the floor areas a fresh, high-quality appearance and forms the connecting foundation. The Good Floor flows seamlessly over and through to the wooden floor and other spaces, ensuring the whole remains one harmonious space, regardless of the function and layout of the rooms.

The Good Floor invites architects and designers to think beyond traditional solutions. With complete flexibility in look & feel, it proves that sustainable choices don’t form limitations, but rather open up new creative possibilities – an inspiring foundation for future-oriented designs.
